Calico to host 2nd Annual Late Harvest Festival

Fall is here and Calico is readying its 2nd Annual Late Harvest Festival. The Blagen Alley destination will host this special event, which is coming off a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The free gathering on Sunday, October 16 offers season-appropriate activities, including pumpkin picking & painting, caramel apples, hot cocktails, and autumnal fare.

Guests can pick their pumpkins in Calico’s pop-up patch and decorate them with complimentary painting supplies. The fall festivities also help pave the way for the introduction of Calico’s new seasonal menu. Chef Nathan Beauchamp has prepared his own autumnal feast filled with mugs of soup and piping hot spinach dip. Attendees can also take advantage of local apples with sweet, buttery caramel for dipping.

On the drinks side, Beverage Director Ian Fletcher is hot and ready with his seasonal libations, which are hot, too. Consider spiked alpine cider and pumpkin-spice or hot-buttered rum made with Don Q. Calico will also have pumpkin cider and Oktoberfest beers, as well as non-alcoholic hot cider, on hand.

Guests can also enjoy additional festivities, including a festive photo area, complete with hay, pumpkins and corn stalks for just-the-right photo-op. Face painters, who will entertain kiddos, will be available earlier in the afternoon, so families are encouraged to attend between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Food and beverage prices are available a la carte, but local breweries will be conducting complimentary beer tastings for adults (21+). They will offer beer purchases to take home. Silver Branch Brewing Co. will pour from 1 p.m to 4 p.m. and Hellbender Brewing Company will pour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
