Sip, Swig and Sample RAMMYs event arriving in June

Cocktail, Wine, Beer programs of the year finalists to be celebrated starting June 27

The Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) announced a Sip, Swig and Sample RAMMYS event to celebrate the DC Awards spirits, beer and wine program finalists. The events will take place around the city at RAMMY Award finalists for Cocktail Program of the Year, Wine Program of the year and Beer Program of the Year programs.

From June 27 to July 1, 2022, these recognized beverage programs will have their offerings in the spotlight. The Sip, Swig and Sample event provides DC-area imbibers a way to enjoy the latest trendy concoctions from some of the best watering holes in the DMV area.

Bresca – 2022 Cocktail Program of the Year Finalist

Cocktails of the Future, a dynamic cocktail collaboration with Bresca and Your Only Friend, is something not to miss during RAMMYS Beverage Week. On Monday, June 27, indulge in four contemporary classics as they were imagined by bartenders from the past. Reservations are $95++ and can be made through Tock. Note that food will not be available to be ordered.

Caboose Tavern – 2022 Beer Program of the Year Finalist

For the whole week starting June 27, Caboose Tavern will offer special brewery tours starting at 6:30 p.m., followed by a guided tasting with one of their brewers. The word is that space is limited so make sure to check @caboosebrewing and @caboosetavern to book through the ticket link.

Northside Social – 2022 Wine Program of the Year Finalist

Enjoy several interesting goings-on Northside Social during RAMMYS Beverage Week. From Monday, June 27, through Friday, July 1, both locations (Clarendon and Falls Church) will offer a flight of rosé for $25 benefiting The Trevor Project. And guests can stop by the Clarendon location for bingo on Monday, June 27, and a Taste the Rainbow wine dinner on Thursday, June 30. The latter features winemakers and vineyards from the LGBTQ+ community. Tickets are $70++ and can be purchased through the website.

Quarry House Tavern – 2022 Beer Program of the Year Finalist

Quarry House Tavern will offer $4 Peabody Heights Old Oriole Park and $6 rotating IPA drafts from its neighbors at Astrolab Brewing during the week starting June 27. On Tuesday, June 28, guests can join the team for The Cellar Sessions, breaking into Quarry House Tavern’s rare and special bottles to pour by the glass. The restaurant will put the spotlight on Vintage and one-off pours from breweries all over the world.

Queen’s English – 2022 Wine Program of the Year Finalist

Wednesday, June 29, through Friday, July 1, take part in Queen’s English Natty Wine Hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.. Order from select bottles of the restaurant’s natural wine for $45.

Serenata @ La Cosecha Market – 2022 Cocktail Program of the Year Finalist

Serenata will offer Serenata Summertime Sips!, which is a take-home cocktail kit for purchase from Monday, June 27, through Friday, July 1. Guests will have their choice of three kits to recreate Serenata’s stellar cocktail program at home: the Best Ever Margarita 2.0, Mojito con Chinola, and Paloma. Each cocktail kit goes for $50 and mixes up six drinks. It comes with all ingredients needed to make the drink, as well as a QR code redirecting to a how-to video for mixing up the cocktail from Managing Partner Andra “AJ” Johnson.

Slate Wine Bar – 2022 Wine Program of the Year Finalist

From Tuesday, June 28, through Friday, July 1, Slate Wine Bar will offer a special RAMMYS Beverage Week wine flight featuring four fantastic wines for just $35. Guests will have the option to ‘upgrade their flight’ by exchanging up to two of these wines for special bottle-only selections from the menu. The signature flight features Taittinger Brut, Verso Libre, GLF by Greg La Follette Pinot Noir, and Taylor Fladgate Fine Ruby Port. Upgrades include Domaine des Hâtes 1er Cru Fourchaume (+$8) and Ehlers Estate Cabernet Sauvignon (+$15).

And to air up with the wine flight, Slate offers an inventive menu of classic Spanish bites and snacks. In addition, guests can partake in the Chef’s Menu from Chef Danny Lledó to be enjoyed a la carte or as a four-course prix fixe menu for $70 per guest.

Sweetwater Tavern – 2022 Beer Program of the Year Finalist

From Monday, June 27, through Friday, July 1, Sweetwater Tavern will feature its Round of Samplers, a mini pilsner of five beers currently on tap, at its Merrifield, Centreville, and Sterling locations. RAMW will announce the winners of Cocktail Program of the Year, Wine Program of the Year, and Beer Program of the Year, among other categories, at The 40th Annual RAMMY Awards Gala on Sunday, July 24, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
