New restaurant arrivals to DMV also participating in the week-long affair
The Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) added additional participants to the 2022 DC Winter Restaurant Week, which starts Monday, January 17, 2021. The celebration puts the spotlight on the local area dining scene, considered one of the best in the country. Diners can choose from in-restaurant special menus and cocktail pairings or RW-To-Go dinner meals.
Participating restaurants will offer multi-course brunch and lunch menus for $25 per person. There will also be multi-course dinner menus for $40 or $55 per person when dining on-premises.
As diners make their way around their 2022 DC Winter Restaurant Week choices, the Grilled Chicken at Agora (locations in Dupont Circle and Tysons, Va.) looks to be a standout dish. This is part of a four-course meal for $55.
On Nama’s $40 three-course menu, dinner starts with Miso Soup or Seaweed Salad. For dinner, there’s a choice of Nigiri, consisting of King Salmon, Bluefin Tuna, Hamachi & Shrimp, Sashimi (Madai, Albacore & Tuna Tataki) or Maki Roll, which includes Salmon & Avocado Spicy Tuna & avocado. Cheesecake tops off the three-course meal.
Voltaggio Brothers at MGM National Harbor will serve a Winter Pear Salad, which includes Port Poached Pear, Kurri Squash, oak leaf lettuce, and maple bacon dressing, as one of its starters. The main course offers a choice of 8 oz Prime Short Rib, Hot Honey Chicken or Shrimp & Grits. The short rib is slow-cooked and served with whipped potatoes, sherried cherry glaze, garlic crumble, and chives, while the Hot Honey Chicken offers a fried half chicken, cajun honey glaze and cheddar biscuits. The Shrimp & Grits includes stone ground, white corn, cajun Sauce and cornbread crumble.
Kathy E. Hollinger, RAMW president and chief executive, said, “Our restaurants have shown resilience, creativity, and perseverance over the past two years, and they continue to count on the amazing support of loyal diners and newcomers through promotions like Restaurant Week. Designed to get diners out to experience all our great food scene has to offer, we have evolved this turnkey promotion to help meet diners where they are in terms of comfort.
