New, open, creative 2,653-square-foot space ready for event bookings
The Darcy Hotel, at 1515 Rhode Island Avenue, Northwest, opened its new Bader Ginsburg Courtyard Pavilion event venue. The 2,653 square feet of new space encompass an architecturally-forward progressive skylight, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors that flow onto a landscaped courtyard terrace.
The first scheduled event there will be the Washington Menswear Collections fashion show, the first scheduled event, part of DC Fashion Week, on Friday, September 24.
The Bader Ginsburg event venue, named after Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, will hold more than 200 guests for meetings, weddings, receptions, and various event configurations. Renovations to the tune of $2.4M create an open environment that fits well with the hotel’s decor. Baskervill architecture and design firm is behind the reimagining of the space.
“The translucent skylight dome is adjustable with uplighting and shading features. Wall-to-wall carpeting fills the event space displaying a deconstructed plaid design in muted gray, ochre and olive-green hues. Full-length ivory-paneled batten walls enhance the room with an 11-foot built-in buffet, featuring a gray quartz countertop, located on the back wall for the purpose of serving food and beverages,” according to The Darcy Hotel’s announcement.
This is an update to a story we shared in March.
