Georgian restaurant Tabla adds breakfast dishes

New khachapuris reflect an expanding menu

Tabla, the sister restaurant of Supra, and the second Georgian restaurant in Washington, DC, has added breakfast dishes to the menu. Available, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., guests will be able to enjoy treats like Matsoni Yogurt & Granola with seasonal fruit for $6; Guruli khachapuri, a breakfast khachapuri with boiled egg, cheese and fresh herbs for $8; and Nazuki (a Georgian spiced bread) with dried cherries and currants, served with honey butter, priced at $3.

An eclectic mix of dishes and flavors also land on the breakfast menu in the form of non-traditional takes on khachapuris. These additions to the Tabla menu reflect an expanding and diverse offering:

  • Mexican Street Corn Megruli for $12 – Sulguni cheese blend with Mexican Cotija cheese, grilled corn, lime crema, house hot sauce, fresh herbs and pumpkin seeds
  • Southern Pulled Pork Imeruli for $12 – Pulled pork shoulder, pomegranate and sour Plum (Tkemali) BBQ sauce with Georgian spices, Imeruli cheese (imported from Georgia), grilled cabbage slaw, dots of imported Georgian guda cheese dressing
  • Spinach & Artichoke Dip Ajaruli for $12 – Sulguni cheese blend with spinach and artichoke
  • Maryland Crab Dip Ajaruli for $18 – Lump crab meat, Sulguni cheese blend, house hot sauce and cheddar cheese sprinkled on top

Tabla’s becoming a gem in the Park View neighborhood in Washington. The Georgian neighborhood restaurant opens Sunday – Wednesday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday – Saturday.
