Diversity, career development at heart of Truluck’s culture
Seafood chain Truluck’s Ocean’s Finest Seafood & Crab plans a new restaurant at Anthem Row in its corner K Street building in Mount Vernon Square, Washington, D.C. The total space spans 10,313 square feet and will become a reality by April. What’s even better is the restaurant is hiring 100 employees to support its operations. The location features a Stone Crab Lounge with live entertainment. The seafood chain also operates in Texas, Florida, California, and Illinois, with the D.C. Truluck’s becoming its 13th restaurant.
The Truluck’s concept has emerged as a sustainable restaurant, focusing on meaty crab claws from carnivorous crabs that the chain returns to the Gulf of Mexico so they can regenerate. Truluck’s originated in Houston, Texas in 1992, and developed into a high-end seafood chain. Restaurant veteran Bond Davis will manage the D.C. location.
The seafood chain seeks servers, bartenders, hosts, line cooks, and management. As it recruits candidates who are interested in becoming part of the team, it’s accepting applications online at www.trulucks.com/careers and also at its hiring office in the WeWork office at 718 7th Street Northwest beginning today. Truluck’s says the office is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Saturday, February 29.
According to the restaurant’s announcement, the decor includes “sparkling chandeliers, signature red leather horseshoe booths, warm mahogany wainscoting, and floor-to-ceiling windows with illuminated draperies, combining to give the restaurant an elegant, welcoming feel that will be familiar to fans of the brand.”
