Pike and Rose continues to add new restaurants

Mix of fast casuals, casual-dining chains add excitement for Pike and Rose diners

Pike and Rose continues to add new additions to the collection of restaurants there that make it a truly worthwhile destination. Under new ownership, Taylor Gourmet is a go-to spot for the quick sandwich fix. BurgerFi opened in April, according to Bethesda Magazine— it’s a fast-casual eatery that serves hormone-free, humanely raised beef burgers and all-natural chicken sandwiches.

Sweetgreen opened up in March, while Tilman Fertitta, the new owner of Del Frisco’s closed the location there, among several others nationwide.

Some of the biggest news at the Pike & Rose lifestyle center wasn’t the eateries but the build out of Federal Realty’s newest offices at 909 Rose. The office complex at 909 Rose also emerges as a defining marketer of the development. Federal Realty chose the 12-level office building as its new home.

The North Bethesda headquarters of the property developer is expected to feature “unprecedented” network and Internet connectivity and a lounge & amenity rooftop terrace. The tenants in this new project will be welcome prospects for the North Bethesda eateries.

Commonwealth Gourmet Indian restaurant opened to much fanfare. It opened up in May on the Georgetown Pike side of the center. Another big development came in the form of Fogo de Chao. The churrasco-style Brazilian eatery took over the site of a former Nike Factory Store and Reebok store space at the corner of Grand Avenue and Georgetown PIke.

Fogo de Chao announced the opening of the Pike and Rose location—its third in Greater Washington, Also, the restaurant is set to offer views of the rotisserie grill with an open kitchen format and “sweeping wine cases.” Happy Hour takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
