Weeklong festivities celebrate all things beer in D.C.
Beer aficionados in the Washington, D.C. area look forward to the arrival of D.C. Beer Week every year. It’s a weeklong celebration of great beer in the nation’s capital. This year, a Friday, September 6 event kicks off the festivities at District ChopHouse and Brewery for Cask Day/Night. Attendees can enjoy this grand tasting event, which features 20 or so local casks. Guests will also receive a tasting glass and have access to tasty ChopHouse offerings. Tickets are available here.
Some D.C. Beer Week fans may want to get off to a running start—well, literally. There’s an event for that, as it turns out. The D.C. Beer Week Fun Run takes place Sunday, September 8, starting at 10 a.m. Joggers and walkers will meet at the Right Proper Brookland Production Facility. Those who register, receive a free beer at the start, and another at the finish, at Red Bear. Just beyond the finish, participants will find the Red Bear Block Party, an added bonus.
One of the highlights of the event should be the sixth annual Brewers on the Block party, hosted by Gina Chersevani of Buffalo & Bergen. Brewers on the Block at Union Market has become one of the more exciting facets of D.C. Beer Week. The fete at Suburbia is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. September 14. Attendees can snag tickets for $55 or get the VIP treatment for $75. To view and obtain tickets, navigate here.
