Ballston Quarterfest returns to Arlington May 18

Restaurant crawl, bands, Kids Zone headline two days of fun for all ages

The Ballston Quarterfest returns to Arlington, Va. the weekend of May 18-19. The two-day festival offers music, drinks, food and entertainment for adults and the entire family. What’s more, the event is free. Admission to the restaurant crawl and street pub, however, is made possible through the purchase of an event wristband. The Ballston Quarterfest will pass along proceeds from the event to BallstonGives. According to the event’s online profile, BallstonGives is a nonprofit that donates funding to other Arlington charities, Arlington Food Assistance Center and Arlington Street Peoples Assistance Network.

Ballston Quarter is the redesigned Ballston Common Mall, which is home to several local restaurants and a curated set of chains, in addition to retail and experiential stores. Restaurants including Bartaco, Copa Kitchen & Bar, Hot Lola’s, The Local Oyster, and True Food Kitchen have set up shop at the Quarter Market at Ballston Quarter, to name a few.

Wristband purchasers sample food at several neighborhood restaurants, and also receive two, free drink tickets to be used at Street Pub vendors.

Additionally, restaurant crawl participants receive a map showing all the venues associated with the restaurant crawl. Guests who turn in a completed (fully-stamped) crawl map by 5:30 p.m. Saturday are entered for the chance to win autographed Washington Capitals gear and two free tickets to an upcoming game.

Younger festival-goers have access to the Kids Zone on the M2 level exterior portion, accessible via the escalators adjacent to South Block at Ballston Quarter. There, kids will enjoy fun activities, including face painting, balloon artists, a bubble fairy, caricatures, and also glitter tattoos.
