Stephens duo to beef up sales at DC Brau craft brewery

Appointment of Carnes, promotion of Taylor to spur DC Brau sales efforts

DC Brau has hired Stephen “Steve” Carnes as head of sales and promoted Stephen Taylor to sales manager, Virginia and Maryland, to beef up the sales team. Kayleigh Tanthorey continues to head up DC Brau’s impressive business development efforts, and serves as business development manager.

Carnes worked at Chicago’s Revolution Brewing most recently, serving as East Coast regional sales manager. The position was based out of New York City. Carnes helped launch the brand in the New Jersey market in spring of 2017. As a certified Cicerone, he brings more than two decades of sales experience to DC Brau.

Prior to his new role as DC Brau sales manager and former East Coast regional sales manager position with Revolution Brewing, Carnes also worked at Chicago Beverage Systems, Premium Distributors of Washington, D.C. and Guinness Bass Import Co/DIAGEO Guinness USA.

“We are thrilled to welcome both Stephens to the DC Brau family,” said Brandon Skall, DC Brau chief executive and co-founder. “With Steve Carnes’ extensive experience on both the distributor and sales side of the beer business, our sales team is in a great position for continued growth throughout the Northeast Corridor and beyond.”

As DC Brau sales manager – Virginia and Maryland, Taylor will move from brand ambassador to this new role as the main contact for the Virginia and Maryland region. Tanthorey will be served well by her creative skills and relationship building as she moves toward a more traditional business development position, shifting focus away from sales toward marketing opportunities.
