A plethora of special events, drink specials pop up for Opening Day
The Washington, D.C. Metro area is thawing out from recent snow showers, and its residents are ready for baseball season to start sizzling with its all-star team, the Washington Nationals. The Nats are set to start their season with a matchup against the New York Mets. There are a number of Nats Opening Day special events, discount offers and drink specials as we approach the MLB season starter at Nats Park, Thursday March 28. From a red carpet walk, to Stuffies and a Jumbo Smoked Wings platter, there’s plenty of food and drink to take in while enjoying Opening Day festivities.
Washington Nationals Homecoming Gala at District Wharf
First, the Nats will be helping celebrate the start of the season, the earliest Nats start in history, outside the Anthem at the District Waterfront. The Washington Nationals Homecoming Gala starts at 5 p.m.Tuesday, March 26 in advance of Opening Day. Brookland’s Finest Opening Day festivities

Brookland’s Finest is helping get the party started on opening day with $5 special pricing on Denizens Brewing Company’s Bohemian Pils, which also on tap at Nats Park. And a Jumbo Smoked Wings and French Fries platter will be served up to satisfy hungry fans. Shannan Troncoso, who is co-owner and executive chef is serving up the dish, priced at $14, all-day long. Brookland’s Finest is a finalist for the 2019 RAMMY Award for Casual Brunch of the Year.

Bourbon Steak brings out fan faves
Bourbon Steak serves its Lobster Corn Dogs with a whole-grain mustard sauce on Nats Opening Day. Additionally, the acclaimed restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel celebrates with an Amarena Cherry Ice Cream Sundae served in a cute, toy-size Washington National’s baseball helmet.

All-day happy hour at Osteria Morini on Water Street
Although Nats Opening Day Game isn’t scheduled until 1:05 p.m., Osteria Morini will kick things off when it opens its doors. Happy hour is an all-day affair with specially-priced adult beverages on the waterfront. This means happy hour starts at 11:30 a.m. and runs until 9 p.m. Osteria Morini offers $5 beers, $7 draft wines and $7 cocktails, so check out its Negroni cocktail at the special price. The Salt Line gets nostalgic, indulgent
Many Nats fans are also The Salt Line fans, which is located steps from Nats Park and will open a Virginia location next year. The Salt Line’s reputation is fast-rising and Kyle Bailey, its executive chef, is a finalist for the 2019 RAMMY Award for Chef of the Year. Indulge in Stuffies made with baked Middleneck Clams, smoked Linguica, Lemon, Bread, and Parmesan, or get heavenly with Lobster Rolls, either dressed or buttered, and served on a split-top bun.
