March 5 NOLA-style event sure to be a Jambalaya of fun
Mardi Gras will boast events around the DMV, but there’s no étouffée about long-standing traditions in the Washington, D.C. region. Naturally, Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar and Eatery in Arlington, Va. will host a Mardi Gras Blowout event during Fast Tuesday, March 5. David Guas will be hosting a special NOLA-style event. Guas is a NOLA native and celebrity chef who has featured Creole and Cajun favorites at the neighborhood bakery for eight years.
From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., try the one-night-only $5 specials, including the Red Beans & Rice and Jambalaya. No NOLA-style Mardi Gras celebration is complete without Beignets around—and they will be—and must-haves include B. B King Cake slices, for $2.
On tap, will be $5 N’awlins Cocktails, too, announced the restaurant. For those keeping the celebration at home, Bayou Bakery recommends its to-go carnival faves. The Bayou Bakery Mardi Gras Catering Menu features the classics, including Crawfish Étouffée, Jambalaya, Crabmeat Maison, cheesy Crawfish Monica, and assorted party platters. The restaurant is currently inviting guests to call ahead orders for the big day. Bayou Bakery is located in the Courthouse neighborhood of Arlington.
