Metro Washington DC restaurants serve up polished takes on Thanksgiving Dinner

Mi Vida, Rockwood, Blackwall Hitch are just a few of the restaurants taking the ‘work’ out of Thanksgiving 2018

Several restaurants in Metro Washington, DC are open for Thanksgiving Dinner Thursday, November 22, 2018. A few honorable mentions include, Mi Vida at the District Wharf, Rockwood Sports Bar at Virginia Gateway and Blackwall Hitch, which will be taking the cooking and dishwashing off the hands of guests in grand style, with polished takes of the traditional, American turkey dinner.

At Mi Vida, Thanksgiving Dinner is a unique, Mexican-style, fusion medley, and starts off with a mushroom soup appetizer (Sopa de Hongos). The second course is stuffing (Pavo Relleno) with kale & ricotta in a bacon-wrapped turkey breast, topped with chipotle-cranberry sauce, served with cornbread and roasted brussel sprouts. The dessert selection is a sweet potato pie (Pay de Camote) with a pineapple-caramel sauce.

At the Rockwood Sports Bar, Chef Mike Cordero, co-owner of several restaurants in the Northern Virginia Area, including Barley Mac, Don Tito, Rockwood, Don Taco, and others, will feature Thanksgiving Dinner for $24.95 per person and $9.95 for children. The buffet-style offering will serve up local, farm-raised turkeys and prime rib, green bean and mushroom casserole, crumbled mac and cheese, homemade stuffing, chorizo stuffing, roasted redskin potatoes, cranberry sauce and a full dessert station. It will be the first Thanksgiving Dinner for the new venue at Virginia Gateway and reservations can be made on its website.

All Blackwall Hitch locations will be offering a special Thanksgiving Dinner for $39.95 for adults and $19.95 for children. The buffet will offer the following selections:
