Guinness Open Gate Brewery Barrel House in Maryland opens in August

Guinness Open Gate Brewery Barrel House to debut just north of Washington, D.C.

The Open Gate Brewery Barrel House by Guinness is opening this summer in Halethorpe, Md., just south of Baltimore, Md., and about 30 miles north of Washington, D.C. Guinness parent Diageo Beer Company USA announced the August 3 grand opening to the public in a company statement.

The brewery, Guinness’ first in the United States since 1954, will act as an innovation center for Guinness. Brewmaster Peter Wiens and Head Brewer Hollie Stephenson will lead a production team crafting Guinness Blonde and experimenting with other brews that reflect the essence of American and Maryland brewery heritage. Guinness says the taproom, “10-barrel brewery,” grounds, and merchandise shops will be officially open at the grand opening, but the restaurant will debut two weeks later.

The Guinness Open Gate Brewery Barrel House will have food trucks on hand during the grand opening to satisfy hungry customers.
